POST-TREK READER WEEK 1
“Welcome Home!”
How many people said that to you over the past month? After spending significant time in another country and/or culture, it is normal to question what home really means. After going through an adjustment phase on your Trek, you might have gotten to a point where you feel at home with certain things about that culture. Or, you might just be glad to be back in the States. Undoubtedly, you have undergone transition to some extent, after reentering back into your home culture, going back to school and/or work, and seeing family and friends.
Take a few moments to journal or talk with a Trek buddy about these questions.
What about your Trek culture started to feel like home?
What about your home culture has been refreshing and comforting? What has been hard to adjust back to?
As a follower of Jesus, how has he redefined “Home” for you?
Application
Create a physical space in your home that reminds you of your summer. This could be a photo collage, a shelf in your pantry for certain food, a prayer corner, etc.
Suggested songs: “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” – Christian hymn
Contact a Trek buddy and talk it out!
