You Will Learn About Transformation

GOD TRANSFORMS ALL OF US IN MISSION

When you go on a Global Urban Trek and are outside your comfort zone, you often listen to God more intentionally and have the opportunity to change, take action, and follow a call in ways that have not been visible to you previously. When teams understand that God is already at work, they are open to the ways God would transform them and call them to action through their experience.

We have seen this happen with InterVarsity students on Treks to India. In seeking to share the gospel in word and deed in their sites, students learned ways that Indian Christians see the gospel as shaping how they interact with their country’s systems, and Indian Christians received encouragement in the face of persecution, as well as a new understanding of how the gospel shapes interactions with power and wealth.

On the Global Urban Trek, the value of communal living and resource sharing, which students see in their host families, has moved Trek students to live differently upon returning to the United States.

The participants have had their vision widened and are living lives more closely aligned with the Kingdom of God because of their experiences.
