"Wow you're going to Kolkata?"

"I heard it's hard."

"Why did you choose Kolkata?"

"Hello, my name is Ariel and I would like to give glory to God." That is how each Thursday meeting would start with LAUP(Los Angeles Urban Project).

After Chimalhuacan for almost two weeks life had started to become ordinary. We finally had established a sort of routine and I felt pretty comfortable where we were.

It didn't even take a week in Chilmalhuacan for me to realize this trip was going to be nothing like I expected. I expected to see poverty, but I wasn't prepared to be overwhelmed by it.

When I arrived in Papalotla, where we had our mid-trek retreat, I was put off by how quaint and tranquil it was. I had gotten used to the dusty roads and grey buildings in Chimalhuacan.
