The Global Urban Trek is a summer immersion program that focuses on the intersection of faith, justice, urban and global poverty, vocation, and stewardship. We partner with local churches and non-government organizations (NGOs) to serve as our teachers, guides, and mentors for our staff and students. Our posture is live, listen and learn what God is already doing in these communities. As students experience daily life and the needs of this community, they may begin to sense God's call to longer-term service among the urban poor.
Mexico has been receiving Trek teams for the last 20 years and we are excited to be back working alongside our global friends at Servant Partners. This site focuses on church planting and ministry. We will teach art/dance/music and English, working alongside a small business and church planting in a neighboring community. It has been fun to witness the growth of this community and to hear stories from past Trek students on how this community has developed over the years.
